Simon, a 39-year-old technophobe, doesn’t much like technology, he doesn’t have an iPad, hates his iPhone and struggles with the vagaries of his mysterious Sky box.

But, Simon was reading all about home automation and the rise of the smart home, and was intrigued.

Naturally, Simon googled ‘home automation’ and started doing a bit of research. It was all a bit scary for him, until he found something he liked.

A device which would allow you to turn on and off any appliance from anywhere in the world, right from your phone. Simon had no idea how this worked, but was interested nonetheless.

He didn’t like the technical jargon being used to describe the product but found the company’s website much more straightforward, Simon likes things to be straightforward.

Simon reckoned he could find a use for this product, he thought it would be great to turn his lights on and off when he was out of the house.

Simon decided to take the plunge, he ordered a WiFi Plug, just to see what it was like.
